Who we are

Ayrshire College are currently looking to recruit a VQ Assessor – Aeronautical Engineering, to join our established Work Based Assessment Team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced practitioner to join an organisation which makes a valuable economic and social contribution to Ayrshire and its employers. As a VQ Assessor you will support the delivery of work based and vocational qualifications through assessing, verifying, and monitoring Scottish and National Vocational Qualification (S/NVQ) students. If you can use your extensive knowledge and experience of the aeronautical engineering sector to inspire and support others to achieve their qualifications and career goals, this could be the role for you.

Responsibilities

  • Support delivery of work based and vocational qualifications through assessing, verifying, and monitoring S/NVQ students.
  • Develop effective partnerships with external employers and commercial organisations.
  • Provide mentoring support and guidance to inspire learners to achieve their qualifications and career goals.
  • Act as a knowledge leader in the aeronautical engineering sector.

Qualifications

  • Educated to HNC/SVQ level 3, SCQF level 7 or equivalent within a relevant subject area.
  • Comprehensive experience of the aeronautical engineering sector.
  • Experience of assessing, verifying vocational and work-based qualifications is preferred, although training can be given.
