Reference: REQ01070 Ayrshire Colleges’ Catering Service Department is seeking a hard-working individual that is passionate about food.

You will be operating within a dynamic team in a professional and creative kitchen.

We require the successful candidate to support the delivery of the College’s Catering Service by providing high quality and professional catering services to the students, staff and visitors to the College, through ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the kitchen and cafeteria areas of the College.

This is a cross-campus role, which will include covering annual leave, and sickness cover at any Ayrshire College sites.

The post holder will also support in weekend and evening events across campuses when required.

As such a full driving licence is desirable.

The role involves supporting the Catering Services Manager in the preparation, cooking and service delivery of food, ensuring the efficient and effective use of all resources to deliver a high-quality Catering Service to the College.

Your responsibilities will include cooking light meals and snacks, cash handling, cashing up at the end of the day, placing orders over the phone and online stock and waste management.

You will be customer focused with the ability to provide a professional service whilst being flexible in your approach to respond to customer requirements.

The successful applicant will be educated to SVQ 2 level in a Catering or equivalent cooking qualification or relevant cooking experience.

An Elementary Food Hygiene Handler Certificate or equivalent is essential for the role, along with knowledge of COSHH and HACCP, excellent customer service, teamwork, adaptability, flexibility and a positive, professional approach.
