We’re looking for a motivated and reliable individual to join our Ground Team at Ayr Racecourse, Scotland’s Premier Racecourse. This is a full-time role (39.5 hours per week), ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors and takes pride in maintaining high standards.
The Role: You’ll be responsible for carrying out a wide range of duties in preparation for racedays and other major events, as well as day-to-day ground maintenance. Key responsibilities include:
- Carry out duties & meeting timelines provided by Clerk of the Course
- Manage day-to-day running of staff
- Manage some record keeping
- Be willing to carry out training provided
- Turf and ground maintenance
- Preparation of the course and surrounding areas for racedays and events
- Mowing, weed control, hedge cutting and trimming
- General upkeep of outdoor areas
- Working independently and as part of a team
- Adhering to health and safety standards at all times
What we’re looking for:
- A positive, motivated attitude
- Experience or interest in turf management
- Enjoys working outdoors in all conditions
- Ability to work both solo and within a team
- Full UK driving licence (preferred)
- Good knowledge of health and safety in the workplace
Qualifications: Qualifications in turf management are preferred but not essential. PA1 and PA6 spraying certificates preferred but not essential.
