I am working with one of the UK's leading Building Services Design Consultancies to help them grow their London office within their Mission Critical and Major Projects team. This company is highly regarded for its innovative and sustainable engineering solutions and has a huge focus on people and wellbeing, ensuring staff enjoy a great work/life balance. Due to their continued success and group investment, they are expanding with new offices and growing existing teams. They are recruiting at all levels within electrical engineering to meet the demands of their exciting project pipeline.
About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Principal Electrical Design Engineer to join a dynamic team working on mission-critical projects, including data centres and other major developments. While prior data centre experience is not essential, a strong interest in this area is highly valued.
You will:
- Play a key role in delivering technically excellent and innovative electrical designs for a variety of projects, including data centre refurbishments, modifications, and fault-finding.
- Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
- Support the design process, including preparing drawings, assisting with design calculations, and contributing to meetings and workshops.
- Work on projects across multiple stages, including stages 3, 4, and 5 design, offering variety and opportunities for professional growth.
Skills and Background
- A degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (MEng or BEng).
- A desire to work towards Chartered Engineer status.
- Experience working on small to medium-scale projects, collaborating within a team to deliver outstanding results.
- Proficiency in IT-based calculation tools and spreadsheet software, as well as skills in Dialux, Relux, Amtech, and Revit.
- While data centre experience is not required, any exposure to or interest in mission-critical projects will be beneficial.
