What You Will Be Doing
We are currently seeking to recruit a Technician to join our Water/Wastewater Projects team. The successful candidate will be offered the opportunity to work on the project delivery of water/wastewater D&B projects. The post will suit candidates with ideally a minimum of 7 years’ experience keen to advance professional skills and experience in a busy and dynamic environmental, civil and structural engineering practice.
- Detailed knowledge of Revit, Navisworks and Civil 3D
- Hold a recognised cert. or diploma or equivalent professional qualification in engineering
- Ideally, 7 years’ post qualification relevant experience using the above software packages
- Previous experience working on design and build projects
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail required
- Must have fluent English and be eligible to work in the UK
- Preparation of new drawing layouts, conceptual design and detailed design drawings. This will include GAs, plans, cross-sections, details, 3D Models etc.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards
- Ensuring that BIM responsibilities and ongoing requirements are planned, scheduled and managed
- Assume ownership of work and be responsible for project deliverables
- Participate in the team effort to effectively deliver the projects
- Experience of Dynamo would be useful but not essential
What you will bring
- Proven experience in a Technician, or similar role within the water, wastewater, utilities, or infrastructure sector
- Strong working knowledge of Plant 3D, or MicroStation would be advantageous
- Good understanding of water and wastewater assets such as treatment works, pumping stations, pipelines, tanks, chambers, and process infrastructure
- Experience producing and coordinating general arrangements, site layouts, sections, details, P&IDs, and as-built drawings
- Strong knowledge of drawing standards, document control, and design coordination processes
- Ability to review technical drawings and identify errors, clashes, or inconsistencies
- Excellent communication and coordination skills
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Experience working with UK water companies, engineering consultancies, contractors, or framework environments would be beneficial
Qualifications
- HNC, HND, degree, or equivalent qualification in Engineering, CAD, Construction, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline
- Relevant industry experience may be considered in place of formal qualifications
- BIM or digital design training would be advantageous
