What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team to lead the design, delivery, and inspection of marine and waterfront structures.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and delivery of marine structures aligned with client requirements and safety standards
- Inspect existing marine infrastructure and ensure accurate implementation of design
- Oversee preparation of tender documents and technical reports
- Monitor project progress, ensuring legal, safety, and environmental compliance
- Mentor and support junior engineers across technical and professional development
- Contribute to business development and client engagement
- Manage all work under Ayesa Engineering's Integrated Management System (IMS)
What You Bring
Experience & Qualifications
- 5–8 years of industry experience in marine, port, or coastal structural engineering
- MSc in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Chartered or near-chartered status with ICE (or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of port and harbour operations
- Familiarity with marine environmental issues and coastal regulations
Skills & Knowledge
- Technical expertise in design and inspection of marine structures
- Proficient in relevant software and engineering tools
- Sound knowledge of BS 6349, Eurocodes, and marine design standards
- Effective communicator with strong client-facing and report-writing skills
- Confident in presenting and managing stakeholder relationships
- Committed to continuous professional development (CPD) and mentoring others
- Enthusiastic about growing Ayesa Engineering's marine engineering presence in the UK & Ireland
- Chartered or near chartered with the ICE or equivalent
- Has proven technical knowledge of specific subject areas and proven ability to use relevant software
- Can communicate effectively with clients, colleagues and outside agencies and build effective working relationships and willingness to exceed client expectations
- Adheres to all Codes of Practice, Design Standards and Health and Safety Regulations
- Represent and promote Ayesa Engineering in a professional manner and develop effective working relationships with clients and potential clients
- Is committed to Continued Professional Development and that of others
- Sound working knowledge of BS 6349, Eurocodes and related marine guidance
