What You'll Be Doing

As a Lead Mechanical Engineer, you’ll lead and deliver Wastewater and Water design packages across diverse sectors including commercial, residential, education, healthcare, and public infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Management of relationships with key clients and contacts across the business including client liaison and development
  • Management of projects within time, cost and quality constraints and standards
  • Management of the day-to-day work of the team
  • Champions and promotes professional advice, guidance and support across the business
  • Monitors and manages compliance and KPI’s
  • Estimating, pricing and delivering against work targets
  • Management of engineering outsource partners

What You Bring

  • Member of a relevant professional body e.g. IMechE, CIWEM
  • Demonstrate level of competence in mechanical and instrumentation design in the water / wastewater industry environment
  • Demonstrate a level of competence in practical mechanical installation experience in the water / wastewater industry environment
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience working in a similar role in the water and wastewater industry
  • A good understanding of modular build construction processes and procedures
  • Experienced in the installation, commissioning and proving of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control and automation (MEICA) systems
  • Experience of Water, Wastewater and Sludge Treatment Centres
  • Demonstrate knowledge of all relevant standards, regulations and codes of practice
  • Extensive site experience of water and recycling operations
  • Ability to use own initiative, problem solve and adjust as issues arise during the project life cycle
  • An experienced manager of people and teams, developing others, and managing staff welfare
  • Experience, or a strong understanding of construction, procurement, and commissioning
