Position
This new role has been identified to support our Water Structures capability. This role is required to provide the lead Structural Engineering expertise with water and wastewater experience to support the delivery of both the NWC and future UK water services projects. The addition of further Structural expertise will greatly enhance our service offering to UK contractors and consultants.
Key Responsibilities
- Working as a lead member of a project team to deliver quality services to clients
- Integrate within our multi-disciplinary design team to deliver robust design solutions to clients
- Interface with other engineering disciplines including civil, geotech, process, and M&E
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients and senior staff
- Ability to manage a challenging workload
- Providing technical direction and mentoring to Structural Design Engineers and graduate engineers
- Management of projects within time, cost and quality constraints and standards
- A team player with a mature approach including first-class inter-personal skills
- Adheres to all Codes of Practice, Design Standards and Health & Safety Regulations
- Represent and promote Ayesa in a professional manner and develop effective working relationships with clients and potential clients
- Assisting in the preparation of tender submissions
- Estimating, pricing, and delivering against work targets
- Management of projects in compliance with Ayesa\’s Integrated Management System (IMS)
- Ensures project staff are aware of, and fully compliant with, the requirements of the IMS
Requirements
Key Requirements
- A Degree or Master’s in civil or structural engineering
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in structural design engineering
- Chartered Member of the Institution of Structural Engineers or another appropriate professional body
- Excellent understanding of the principles of Structural Design and Analysis
- Significant proven experience in contractor design and temporary works
- Significant proven experience in water and wastewater structures or other civil engineering aspects
- Significant proven experience in delivering detailed design engineering solutions, drawings and specifications for structural engineering projects in UK/Ireland
- Excellent understanding of structural behaviour, detailed knowledge of current codes and standards including Eurocodes
- Excellent understanding of the structural components of a building and other structures
- Demonstrate an ability to understand complex problems and to conceive innovative solutions
- Has a strong work ethic, capable of working on their own initiative with proven strong problem-solving skills
- Can effectively communicate with clients, colleagues and outside agencies and build effective working relationships, always aim to exceed client expectations
- Is committed to Continued Professional Development and remains up to date with current developments in the industry
