Main Purpose of Role
AYBL are looking for an exceptionally talented intern to support our Design Team. This placement offers a huge range of opportunities depending on your skill set, ambitions and willingness to learn. The role will give you a broad scope of experience across all major design and product development, ensuring full exposure to the creative design process from start to finish.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Assisting designers with sample management and fabric library.
- Checking in samples from suppliers, organising samples, fabrics and trim approvals into the sample archive and ensuring all samples are accounted for.
- Supporting the garment tech department in prepping for fit sessions.
- Organising samples, steaming samples and measuring samples when required.
- Contributing to the analysis of fabrics, colours and shapes across womenswear/menswear/sportswear/activewear through online comparison shopping, industry awareness and analysis of current AYBL products.
- Supporting designers by producing mood boards based on briefed concepts, ensuring they are in line with our brand image and customer needs including patterns and graphic designs.
- Other general organisation and day to day administration of the design department.
Person Specification
- Currently enrolled onto an undergraduate degree in a fashion related field.
- A keen interest in fashion/activewear across womenswear and/or menswear.
- Basic knowledge of garment construction.
- Basic experience with the design process including the creation of mood boards and design CADing.
- Familiar with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop).
- Motivated, hardworking and highly organised individual.
- Capable of working independently and as part of a small team.
- Ability to drive and having own car would be advantageous but not essential.
Schedule
Three days a week on site 9am-5pm. (Please only apply if you can reliably commute to B98 on Monday, Tuesday)
