We built products for a market most banks ignore. Now we're building the next one. Ayan Capital is an FCA-authorised direct lender focused on building ethical consumer finance products in the UK. Our car finance product is live and scaling. Now we're designing a card product from scratch — for an underserved market of over 4 million people. We're hiring a Product Manager to take this from concept to launch. You'll define the proposition, build the business case, design the customer journey, navigate the regulatory requirements, and ship it. This isn't a roadmap execution role — it's a build role, and genuine build roles in regulated financial services are rare.
What You'll Do
- Define and launch Ayan's card product from concept to market
- Lead product discovery: customer research, competitive analysis, regulatory scoping, technical feasibility
- Build the business case — unit economics, pricing model, go-to-market strategy
- Design the end-to-end customer journey: application, onboarding, transaction experience, servicing, collections
- Make build-vs-buy decisions on infrastructure, processors, and scheme relationships
- Work with Compliance to ensure the product is FCA-ready from day one
- Coordinate with engineering to scope, build, test, and iterate
- Own the product roadmap post-launch — features, improvements, and expansion based on real customer data
- Explore adjacent product opportunities as the platform grows
What We're Looking For
- 4–7 years of product management experience with meaningful exposure to payments, cards, or consumer financial products
- You've built something new before — defined the proposition, scoped the MVP, shipped it to market
- Strong commercial thinking — you can build a P&L model, define pricing, and articulate unit economics clearly
- Experience in a regulated financial services environment — you understand what launching a compliant product actually involves
- Comfortable with ambiguity — the card product doesn't exist yet and you'll need to create structure where there is none
- You can align engineering, compliance, commercial, and leadership stakeholders without needing to be managed through it
- Opinionated about product but evidence-driven
Nice to Have
- Direct experience launching a card or payments product in the UK
- Familiarity with card scheme requirements (Visa/Mastercard), BIN sponsorship, or issuer-processor relationships
- Exposure to ethical or Islamic finance
- Background working with programme managers or Banking-as-a-Service providers
- Startup or scale-up experience where you've built with limited resources
Why Ayan
- A genuine zero-to-one build role in regulated financial services
- You're building for a large, underserved market with real commercial rationale
- FCA-authorised platform with existing customers, infrastructure, and funding — this isn't a pre-revenue idea
- Direct access to senior leadership with fast decision-making
- Competitive salary, equity options
