Ayan Capital is an FCA-authorised direct lender focused on building ethical consumer finance products in the UK. We're expanding our offering and scaling quickly, with car finance at the core of our business today.
We're hiring a Product Manager to drive continuous improvement of our car finance product — finding what's broken, testing what works, and shipping changes that move the numbers. The product is live and funded. Your job is to make it better: faster applications, smarter underwriting flows, higher conversion, better customer experience. You'll own the product backlog, run experiments, and ship improvements that directly impact how we grow. Over time, you’ll also help shape how the product evolves as we scale.
What You'll Do
- Own the car finance product backlog — prioritise features, improvements, and fixes based on data and user feedback
- Run experiments and A/B tests to improve conversion, approval rates, and time to fund
- Analyse product performance data to identify drop-off points, friction, and growth opportunities
- Improve the customer journey from application through to funded deal — remove friction, reduce manual steps, increase completion rates
- Work with engineering to scope, build, and ship product changes on a regular cadence
- Collaborate with our Underwriting division to refine credit decisioning flows and pricing logic
- Work with Compliance to ensure product changes meet FCA requirements
- Coordinate with Growth and Operations teams to close the gap between approved and funded deals
- Write clear specs, user stories, and acceptance criteria
- Contribute to product direction as we expand the offering — identifying new opportunities and helping shape what we build next
What We're Looking For
- 2–3 years of product management experience, ideally in lending, fintech, or a related digital product
- You think in experiments — you test ideas before committing to big builds
- Comfortable with product analytics: funnels, cohorts, conversion metrics, A/B test results
- You can write a clear spec and work with engineers to ship features
- Some experience or interest in regulated financial products — you don't need to be an expert but you need to care about getting it right
- Takes ownership — you don't wait for a roadmap to be handed to you
- Clear communicator across technical, operational, and compliance teams
Nice to Have
- Experience in motor finance or consumer lending
- Exposure to ethical or Islamic finance
- Startup or scale-up experience
- Familiarity with dealer or aggregator distribution models
- Experience with tools like Metabase, Mixpanel, Amplitude, or similar
Why Ayan
- Own a core product at a growing regulated fintech — not a ticket in someone else's backlog
- Work on meaningful problems in an underserved market
- Small, focused team with fast decision-making
- Clear progression as the product function expands
- Opportunity to grow into a broader product role as the company and product function scale
- Competitive salary, equity options
