I am delighted to now be recruiting a Finance Manager role for a private equity-backed, high growth manufacturing business in Bradford, currently scaling fast and looking for someone to help build out the finance function as they continue to grow!

The business is 100m+ turnover and the market leader in the field in the UK, they have experienced significant growth in the last 5 years and have further plans for growth through buy and build, so there could not be a better time to join them.

This is a great opportunity for a technically strong but commercially astute Finance Manager (ACA/ACCA) who wants real commercial exposure in a PE-backed environment. There is a clear and realistic progression path to FC in the next 2-4 years! Whether you’re already in industry or looking to make your first move out of practice, the FC is open to considering both!

The key duties of the role will include:

  • Manage the accounting for WIP, ensuring costs are recognised appropriately
  • Account for deferred income and revenue recognition on long-term contracts
  • Prepare and review contract cost accruals, provisions and margin recognition, and reconcile project positions to the general ledger.
  • Produce/review robust balance sheet reconciliations and ensure the integrity of the entire balance sheet.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, variance analysis and supporting commentary for review.
  • Support preparation of Board packs, operating KPIs, and financial commentary.
  • Deliver variance analysis vs budget, forecast and prior period, explaining movements clearly
  • Work closely with senior commercial team to ensure monthly reporting is accurate
  • Own the end to end process of the rolling forecast process.
  • Act as a finance business partner to project managers, operational leads and senior stakeholders, providing clear, commercially relevant analysis.
  • Support the wider business on pricing, tendering and commercial decision-making with well-grounded financial insight.
  • Prepare or support both entity and group statutory accounts.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be ACA/ACCA qualified – Essential
  • Have a strong technical accounting background, with hands-on experience of WIP, deferred income and long-term contract accounting – Essential
  • Have strong Excel and financial modelling skills
  • Have experience of leading a team and mentoring junior team members
