Your Impact

As an Engineer in the Video Experience team at Axon, you’ll work at the heart of the Evidence.com platform, creating experiences that are at the core of our mission to protect life. You’ll work to create video playback experiences that are fast, performant, and let officers around the world quickly get to the heart of evidence and accelerate justice. Every piece of evidence collected by our Body Cameras and Evidence platform will ultimately be reviewed and analysed through the interface and tools that you create, own, and enrich.

What You’ll Do
Reports to: Director of Engineering

  • Work to develop our evidence playback experience, integrating across key Axon products including Evidence.com, to deliver user experiences that are fast, responsive, resilient, and delight our customers.
  • Build components and user interfaces that enable users to quickly review, analyse, and share different types of media, including Video and Images.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers to understand customer needs and future requirements for evidence playback.
  • Collaborate closely with your team to take ownership and feedback on technical designs that solve customer challenges.
  • Raise the bar in your team through your contribution to code reviews, architecture designs, and approaches to quality.
  • Have an unwavering focus on quality; ensuring code is thoroughly tested through applying innovative automation and load testing approaches.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor\’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Between 2-5 years of professional software development experience.
  • Experience as a Front End Engineer, with deep knowledge of Javascript, Typescript and React. You’ll have a broad knowledge of the protocols, patterns, and test frameworks that are needed to create amazing user experiences.
  • Awareness of backend technologies, including API development and languages such as Python, Go, Java or similar.
  • An excellent communicator; able to take difficult technical concepts and make these accessible to a range of audiences.
  • An unwavering focus on quality, with clear experience in applying unit testing, automation, and TDD concepts to your Engineering process.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub, TeamCity, ArgoCD, etc.
