Real‑Time Crime Center (RTCC) Platform – Axon Fusus
Axon Fusus is a cloud‑based real‑time crime‑center platform that consolidates live video, sensor data, and analytics from diverse sources including body‑worn cameras, drones, fixed surveillance, and automated license plate recognition into a unified interface. It supports real‑time location mapping, AI‑driven alerts, live video streaming, and community engagement tools to empower officers with timely intelligence and improved public safety outcomes.
Senior Engineer – Axon Alerts Team
As a senior engineer, you’ll design, develop, and deliver the Axon Alerts platform, which ensures that the right people receive the right information at the right time. You will ingest events from 1P and 3P device sources, enrich metadata, apply rules to determine recipients, and deliver alerts across multiple channels. You will also mentor and guide other engineers, and maintain operational excellence processes, metrics, and dashboards to keep systems running 99.999% uptime.
This role is based in London with a hybrid schedule: onsite Tuesdays‑Friday and remote Mondays unless otherwise accommodated.
Responsibilities
- Lead engineering architecture design reviews.
- Build services that meet high availability and latency standards in a mission‑critical environment.
- Set a high technical bar for the team through code and architecture design reviews.
- Mentor engineers and foster cross‑functional collaboration with Product, Design, and other Engineering teams.
- Improve engineering processes, including architectural strategic thinking, sprint planning, and daily stand‑ups.
- Enhance operational excellence with metrics, dashboards, and proactive incident response.
- Work with the latest cloud‑based and open‑source technologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of professional software development experience.
- Experience designing and delivering highly available, scalable cloud‑based systems.
- Backend service experience in multiple managed languages such as Java, Scala, Go, or C#.
- Strong background with SQL or NoSQL data stores, queue services, cache services, and/or gateway services.
- Up‑to‑date knowledge of software engineering and open‑source trends, with the ability to assess new practices critically.
- Passion for delivering delight to end users and a hunger for novel challenges.
