Are you a hands-on HR Business Partner who enjoys being at the heart of a manufacturing operation, influencing leaders and driving real cultural change? We're exclusively supporting a well-established international manufacturing business to recruit an experienced HR Business Partner for one of its key production sites in the North East. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an organisation investing heavily in its people, leadership capability and future growth.

Working as part of an established global HR function, you'll become the trusted advisor to the Site Leadership Team, partnering closely with an experienced Site Lead to strengthen management capability, improve employee engagement and embed a culture of accountability and high performance. This is a role for someone who enjoys being visible on the shop floor, building relationships across all levels of the business and making a tangible impact every day.

The Role

As the dedicated HR Business Partner for the site, you'll provide both strategic and operational HR support across the full employee life-cycle. You'll coach and challenge leaders, manage complex employee relations matters and help shape workforce planning, organisational development and culture.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Partnering with the Site Leadership Team on all people-related matters.
  • Coaching and developing managers to build confidence and accountability.
  • Leading complex employee relations cases, including disciplinaries, grievances, absence and performance management.
  • Supporting workforce planning, succession planning and organisational change.
  • Working within a unionised environment, building positive relationships with employee representatives.
  • Driving employee engagement and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensuring compliance with employment legislation, HR policies and regulatory standards.
  • Using HR data and insight to identify trends and inform business decisions.
  • Acting as the link between the site and the wider global HR function.

About You

You'll already be operating as an HR Business Partner, HR Manager or Senior HR Generalist within a manufacturing, engineering, production or similarly operational environment. You'll bring:

  • Strong generalist HR knowledge with excellent employee relations experience.
  • Experience supporting site-based operational teams.
  • Confidence to influence, coach and constructively challenge senior stakeholders.
  • A collaborative, pragmatic and commercially focused approach.
  • Experience working within a unionised or collective bargaining environment is advantageous.
  • A genuine passion for developing leaders and improving workplace culture.
  • CIPD qualification (or equivalent) is desirable.

Most importantly, you'll be someone who enjoys building relationships, isn't afraid to have honest conversations and wants to be part of a business that's investing in its future.

What's on Offer?

  • £60,000–£70,000 salary
  • £4,200 car allowance
  • Private Medical Insurance
  • Pension
  • 4x Life Assurance
  • Hybrid working (typically one day from home)
  • International exposure and collaboration with a global HR team
  • Genuine opportunity to shape culture and influence business performance
  • Clear scope for future career progression as the business continues to grow
