Axon Moore are working with a business operating in the Property sector to appoint a Service Charge Accountant. The business operates multiple sites within commercial property and covers a lot of other disciplines, making it a one-stop shop. This is a small but vibrant company with great growth prospects and people at the heart of their focus.

Responsibilities:

  • Owning the company service charge reporting and reconciliation responsibilities under RICS for approximately 60 properties with service charge.
  • Agreeing service charge budgets and producing budget packs for clients and tenants.
  • Reconciling tenant charges on account and client void charges.
  • Reporting on variances and corrective action/forecasting.
  • Performing year-end lease reconciliations to ensure all costs are recovered (tenant or landlord voids) and the service charge balances.
  • Overseeing the issue of balancing charges or credits to tenants.
  • Handling queries from clients and tenants.
  • Where required, liaising with independent audit.
  • Any ad-hoc work as required.

Experience & Skill Requirements:

  • Experience in a Service Charge role, preferably in commercial property.
  • Any form of qualification is welcome; however, it's preferable that this role fits in line with your career aspirations.
  • Good knowledge of MS Excel (vlookups, pivot tables, etc.).
  • Preferable to have experience of using a Property Management system such as Tramps, Cube, Yardi, etc.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritise work, and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrate accuracy and pay attention to detail.
  • Work and communicate in a mature, courteous, and professional manner.
  • Strong interpersonal skills - approachable and down to earth with articulate communication skills.
