A long-established, privately owned business is appointing a Sales Director as part of its next phase of growth. The company has a strong reputation, deep sector knowledge, and a loyal customer base. This role is central to winning new customers, diversifying revenue and building a clear commercial roadmap for sustained long-term growth.

This is a newly created, senior leadership role reporting directly to the Group Managing Director. The Sales Director will take ownership of business development and commercial strategy, while overseeing existing key relationships and ensuring effective handover into operations and delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead a commercial strategy focused on new business acquisition and customer diversification.
  • Map the market, identifying target sectors, key players, decision-makers, and routes to entry.
  • Build a robust pipeline of opportunities across retail and adjacent fit-out sectors.
  • Reduce reliance on a single major account while protecting and growing existing customer relationships.
  • Lead tenders, negotiations, and commercial discussions through to contract award.
  • Work closely with design and operations teams to ensure proposals are deliverable, commercially sound, and aligned with client expectations.
  • Represent the business externally through networking, industry events, consultants, and professional relationships.
  • Lead, develop, and structure the sales and client-facing team, embedding clearer process, discipline, and accountability.
