OPERATIONS MANAGER- (Warehouse, stock and logistics focused) | FULL-TIME | ON-SITE | EAST LANCASHIRE BASED- Salary £60k+ per annum

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and driven Operations Manager to join a fast-growing UK-based manufacturing business. This is a key leadership role where you will take ownership of our warehousing, logistics, and stock management functions, helping to shape operational efficiency and support continued business growth.

THE ROLE: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to senior leadership, you will be responsible for leading day-to-day operational functions across warehousing, stock control, and logistics. You will oversee a small team and help build the systems and structure needed to support long-term growth.
Core responsibilities include:
Operational Leadership: Lead warehousing, logistics, and stock control activities, ensuring smooth, consistent performance across the department.
Warehouse Oversight: Manage the flow of goods in and out of the facility, storage, and dispatch, ensuring deadlines and standards are consistently met.
Team Management: Develop, train, and support your team through regular communication and hands-on leadership.
Performance Monitoring: Track and analyse operational data to identify inefficiencies and implement improvements.
Systems Management: Ensure warehouse systems and inventory records are accurate and well maintained; recommend system enhancements where appropriate.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve operational productivity, cost-effectiveness, and customer service levels.
Health & Safety: Maintain a safe and compliant working environment through the implementation of relevant policies and procedures.
Inventory Accuracy: Conduct regular stock checks and maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing goods.
Space Planning: Make efficient use of warehouse space and plan for future capacity requirements.
Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate across teams to resolve issues and drive efficiency through strong internal and external communication.
Project Management: Take ownership of operational projects and contribute to strategic business initiatives.
ABOUT YOU

We’re looking for:
Experience managing warehouse or operational functions within a manufacturing or distribution setting

Resilience and the ability to stay calm in challenging situations
Understanding of transport methods and associated cost-efficiency
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and warehouse or inventory systems
ROLE DETAILS
Reports to: Finance Director
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm
Location: East Lancashire-based site (on-site only)
Annual Leave: 28 days per year
Annual leave is restricted during peak trading periods (November and December)
There may be a business-wide closure in December for which leave must be used
Bank holidays are treated as normal working days, though can be requested as annual leave
Required Attendance:
Annual on-site sale event (typically March)
Two additional working days around peak seasonal periods (typically late November)
Time off in lieu or enhanced pay will be provided for these additional days
