This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business where you'll play a key role in both supporting the day-to-day IT function and driving projects that improve systems, processes and the wider business.

Working closely with the Group IT & Facilities Manager, you'll become a trusted member of the team, supporting users across multiple sites while taking ownership of IT projects, system improvements and new technology implementations. If you enjoy getting involved in everything from Microsoft 365 administration to rolling out new systems and improving business processes, this could be the role for you.

The Role

This is a broad, varied position where no two days are the same. You'll split your time between providing hands-on IT support and delivering projects that improve how the business operates. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing 2nd and 3rd line IT support across the business.
  • Managing Microsoft 365 and Active Directory environments.
  • Supporting and maintaining business-critical systems including ERP, WMS and other web-based applications.
  • Working with external IT suppliers to resolve issues and deliver improvements.
  • Taking an active role in IT projects, including software implementations, upgrades, system migrations and process improvements.
  • Understanding how data flows between systems, troubleshooting issues and ensuring information remains accurate.
  • Supporting infrastructure, networking and cybersecurity initiatives.
  • Producing system documentation, testing new functionality and supporting successful project delivery.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve business processes through technology.
  • Supporting users across multiple sites and participating in an on-call rota when required.

About You

We're looking for someone who combines strong technical knowledge with a passion for improving systems and delivering projects. You'll likely have experience within an IT Support, Systems Administration or Infrastructure role and be looking to take the next step into a position with greater project ownership. You'll ideally have experience with:

  • Microsoft 365 and Active Directory administration.
  • Windows environments and IT infrastructure.
  • ERP, WMS or other business systems.
  • Working with third-party IT providers.
  • Supporting or leading IT projects such as software implementations, upgrades or migrations.
  • Process improvement and documenting IT procedures.
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence working with business data.
  • Troubleshooting across multiple systems and applications.

Experience within manufacturing, engineering, logistics or another multi-site environment would be advantageous but isn't essential.

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Naturally proactive and enjoys solving problems.
  • Comfortable working with stakeholders across all areas of the business.
  • Organised and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Keen to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Confident taking ownership of projects as well as day-to-day IT support.
  • A strong communicator who enjoys working collaboratively.

Why Join?

  • Up to £42,000 salary.
  • Join a growing business investing in its IT function.
  • A varied role combining hands-on technical support with exciting IT projects.
  • Exposure to software implementations, business systems and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Opportunity to work closely with an experienced IT leader and continue developing your technical and project management skills.
  • Be part of a collaborative business where IT plays a key role in driving operational improvements.

If you're looking for a role where you can combine technical support with project delivery and genuinely make an impact across a growing business, we'd love to hear from you.

Brush Up on Your Technical Skills

For an IT consulting role, be ready to demonstrate your technical prowess. You might face questions on systems integration, cloud technologies, or even troubleshooting specific software. If you have experience with tools like AWS, Azure, or even specific programming languages, make sure you can talk about them fluently.

Showcase Your Problem-Solving Approach
