Axon Moore is delighted to be partnering with a highly exciting and evolving organisation based in Central Manchester to recruit a Transactional Finance Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced transactional finance professional to lead a small team and take ownership of the day-to-day finance operations within a fast-paced environment. The role will oversee the transactional finance function across accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking, payroll, cashflow and reconciliations, whilst also driving process improvements, strengthening controls and ensuring the smooth running of finance operations across the business.
Location: Central Manchester + Hybrid
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 + Benefits
Main duties:
- Lead, mentor and develop a small transactional finance team, ensuring accurate and timely delivery across all finance operations
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking, expenses, payroll, pensions and reconciliations
- Manage cashflow reporting, monitoring and forecasting
- Maintain strong financial controls, ensuring processes are compliant, accurate and well documented
- Oversee transactional finance systems, ensuring robust approvals, audit trails and operational efficiency
- Support month-end processes through reconciliations, variance analysis and control reviews
- Manage FX and multi-currency transactions
- Drive continuous improvement across finance processes, controls and systems, identifying opportunities for automation and efficiencies
- Support audit requirements and ensure accurate financial record keeping across the transactional finance function
Person specification:
- Previous experience managing a transactional finance team within a fast-paced environment
- Strong knowledge across AP, AR, banking, payroll, reconciliations and cashflow management
- Experience improving finance processes, controls and operational efficiencies
- Confident managing month-end responsibilities and working closely with wider finance teams
- Strong systems experience, including finance/ERP systems and Excel
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships across the business
- Hands-on and proactive approach with the ability to manage workloads and priorities effectively
