I’m currently partnering with a private equity-backed regional law firm undergoing an exciting transformation journey. Following multiple acquisitions and with further deals planned, the business is building a scalable, data-driven platform with ambitious national growth plans.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Financial Controller looking to step into a commercially influential role within a fast-paced, acquisitive environment.
Key responsibilities include:- Owning and enhancing the month-end close process
- Leading year-end audit and statutory reporting
- Managing group consolidations across multiple entities
- Driving cash flow forecasting and working capital improvements
- Improving WIP, billing, debtor management, and revenue recognition processes
- Partnering with senior stakeholders and practice heads to improve financial discipline
- Leading budgeting, forecasting, and KPI reporting
- Supporting finance systems improvements and automation initiatives
- Playing a key role in M&A activity, due diligence, and post-acquisition integration
- Delivering reporting to Board, investors, and lenders
- Leading and developing a growing finance team
- ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified
- Strong financial control and reporting experience within a scaling business
- Professional or business services background (legal experience advantageous)
- Strong understanding of WIP, revenue recognition, and working capital
- M&A and integration exposure, ideally within a PE-backed environment
- Hands-on, commercially minded, and able to operate at pace
- Key position within a high-growth PE-backed business
- Significant exposure to investors and M&A activity
