Axon Moore are supporting an owner managed business in South Yorkshire with the appointment of a PartâTime Finance Director (2 Days per week). This is a long term, part time FD role rather than a shortâterm, fractional piece of work.
The business has a proud history and services a loyal client base, with a healthy order book going in to 2026 and beyond. The Finance Director will straddle both strategic support to the owner, alongside handsâon management of the key tasks within the finance department. They will ideally be working 2 days per week, at their site in South Yorkshire with good links to the M1.
Key duties:- Managing cash flows and daily cash position for the business, ensuring working capital processes are tightly ran and controlled.
- Overseeing the statutory reporting process at year end and meeting all reporting requirements.
- Managing the banking and audit relationships.
- Offering strategic support to the owner, managing risks, opportunities and growth.
- Manage stock control and peaks and troughs of supply/demand.
- Qualified accountant with significant experience as an FD/Head of Finance, ideally in an owner managed or PE backed business.
- Must be someone who can be hands on, working as part of a small finance function, as well as support the owner with the company strategy.
- Must be someone who is specifically looking for a long term, part time role for 2 days per week.
- Ideally be based in the vicinity of the South Yorkshire region, so a site presence can be maintained.
