I am delighted to now be recruiting a Commercial Management Accountant position for a PE backed SaaS business with fabulous new offices in Central Leeds. The business has very strong year‑on‑year growth, increasing headcount, and a rapidly expanding customer base. This is a brilliant opportunity to step into a newly created, hands‑on and varied role with real ownership and visibility.
In this newly created role you will work closely with the CFO, participating in the day‑to‑day running of the finance function while playing a key role in driving commercial insight and supporting strategic decision‑making. It is not a “keep things ticking over” position – it is about building, improving, and scaling.
Key Responsibilities- Produce timely and accurate monthly management accounts.
- Ownership of month‑end close process.
- Oversight of core finance processes including credit control, purchase ledger and payroll.
- Ownership of year‑end process for statutory accounts and tax.
- Analyse KPI performance against targets.
- Collaborate with revenue teams to turn data‑led insight into action plans that help grow the business.
- Support the annual budgeting cycle.
- Ownership of rolling forecast for P&L and cash flow.
- Ownership of finance processes, systems and controls to ensure they are scalable, robust and efficient.
- Identify and implement best practice approaches, processes and tools for the finance function.
The role is ideally suited to someone with an analytical and commercial mindset, and experience operating successfully in a hands‑on finance role within a fast‑paced organisation. The CFO is open‑minded on background; the focus is on shaping the role around the right person. We welcome ambition, drive and a passion to add value, whether that means a 1st move from practice, or a desire for a 4‑day per week or reduced‑hour schedule.
