I’m currently partnering with an innovative and growing technology business in Harrogate that is looking to recruit a Commercial Finance Manager to join its finance team. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially focused finance professional to take a key role in supporting growth, improving financial performance, and providing insight to senior leadership.
Working closely with teams across Sales, Product, Operations, and Marketing, you’ll help translate financial data into clear commercial insight and support the business in making informed strategic decisions. Reporting to the Finance Director / Head of Finance, you’ll take ownership of budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, financial analysis, and commercial business partnering. You’ll play a key role in understanding revenue performance, profitability, costs, and cash generation while helping the business scale effectively. This is a broad and high-impact role within a fast-paced technology environment, offering excellent exposure to senior stakeholders and the opportunity to influence the future direction of a growing business.
Key responsibilities:- Taking ownership of commercial finance and financial performance across the business
- Leading the annual budgeting, forecasting, and longer-term financial planning processes
- Producing insightful monthly management reporting and performance analysis
- Analysing revenue, gross margin, operating costs, profitability, and key commercial KPIs
- Supporting analysis of recurring revenue, customer performance, retention, and growth where relevant
- Acting as a trusted Finance Business Partner to senior stakeholders across Sales, Product, Operations, and Marketing
- Providing financial insight and challenge to support strategic and commercial decision-making
- Developing financial models, scenario analysis, and business cases to support growth initiatives
- Monitoring performance against budget and forecast, identifying risks and opportunities
- Supporting pricing, investment, headcount, and resource allocation decisions
- Improving forecasting accuracy, reporting processes, and the use of financial data across the business
- Providing clear and commercially focused recommendations to the senior leadership team
- Supporting the Finance Director with strategic projects, acquisitions, investment cases, and other ad-hoc analysis where required
- Helping develop and improve the commercial finance function as the business continues to grow
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified, or qualified by experience
- Previous experience in Commercial Finance, FP&A, Finance Business Partnering, or a similar role
- Strong experience across budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, and financial modelling
- Commercially minded with the confidence to challenge and influence senior stakeholders
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn complex data into clear commercial insight
- Excellent Excel and financial modelling skills; experience with BI/reporting tools would be advantageous
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
- Proactive, curious, and comfortable working in a fast-paced and evolving environment
- Experience within technology, SaaS, software, digital, or another high-growth environment would be highly advantageous
