Credit Controller | Leeds | Up to £33,000 | On-site - flexible start and finish times
We are recruiting for an experienced Credit Controller to join a busy finance team in Leeds, in a role where you can genuinely make a difference.
This is a hands-on, end-to-end credit control position, managing your own workload and taking responsibility for collecting outstanding payments. You'll be dealing directly with customers, so a professional, understanding and empathetic approach is really important.
The role would suit someone who is confident having conversations about payments but understands that care and empathy can make a real difference when working with customers.
The Role
- Managing your own ledger and carrying out end-to-end credit control
- Contacting customers by telephone and email to collect outstanding payments
- Building positive relationships with customers
- Understanding individual circumstances and working with customers to find appropriate solutions
- Monitoring outstanding balances and taking action to reduce aged debt
- Allocating payments and maintaining accurate account records
- Resolving queries and investigating discrepancies
- Working closely with internal teams to resolve payment issues
- Maintaining accurate records and providing regular updates on outstanding debt
About You
- Has previous credit control experience
- Is confident managing customer conversations around payments
- Has a calm, patient and empathetic approach
- Is comfortable having potentially difficult conversations
- Has strong attention to detail and good organisational skills
- Can manage their own workload and meet deadlines
- Is confident using Excel and finance systems
- Wants to work in a role where they can make a genuine difference
