We’re working with a successful and growing manufacturing business based in Bradford, who are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Management Accountant to play a key role within the finance function. This is a broad and commercially focused position, providing accurate financial reporting, analysis and insight to support operational decision-making and the continued growth of the business. Working closely with senior management and operational teams, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to influence performance, improve financial controls and drive greater understanding of manufacturing costs and profitability. Key Responsibilities Prepare and deliver accurate monthly management accounts, financial reports and balance sheet reconciliations. Provide detailed analysis of manufacturing costs, production variances, margins and overall business performance. Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, including cash-flow forecasting and ongoing performance monitoring. Analyse raw material, labour and overhead costs, identifying trends, variances and opportunities to improve profitability. Work closely with production and operational teams to provide meaningful financial analysis and commercial insight. Support senior management with financial modelling, scenario analysis and decision-making. Take ownership of month-end processes, including journals, accruals, prepayments, stock adjustments and reconciliations. Monitor inventory and stock movements, ensuring accurate financial reporting and effective controls. Identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen financial controls and enhance the quality and efficiency of management information. Support year-end activities and liaise with auditors and other external stakeholders as required. The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will be an experienced finance professional with a strong management accounting background, ideally gained within a manufacturing or product-led environment. You will ideally have: ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification Previous experience as a Senior Management Accountant, Management Accountant, Finance Manager, Financial Controller or similar. Strong understanding of management accounting, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis. Experience of manufacturing accounting, including product costing, stock, labour, overheads and production variances. Excellent Excel skills and experience using finance/ERP systems. Strong analytical and commercial skills, with the ability to translate financial information into clear business insight. Excellent communication skills and the confidence to work closely with senior management and operational teams.
