The Company

Axon Moore are working with an industry leading global business to appoint an Assistant Accountant in their Fixed Asset team. Based in their UK office in Manchester city centre, you will work remotely with your counterparts in the US and Germany via Teams and you will settle in the office with the wider UK finance team. The business has a huge presence around the world and you will be working on the month end tasks and processing of fixed assets business wide, so it’s a huge and exciting opportunity in the corporate finance team.

Ideally, you will be a recent graduate with some experience working in a large business or Shared Service Centre environment. If you’ve demonstrated progression in your experience, this will be ideal as there will be the opportunity for you to progress in this role and take advantage of future internal vacancies. You will need to be a strong communicator with strong written and verbal English language skills. If you are fluent in other European languages as well, this will be highly beneficial.

Salary and Benefits:

£30-35k per annum DOE. Huge benefits package with 25 days’ holiday plus banks, hybrid working 3 days in the office, study support available, huge pension - matched up 11%, death in service award 6x your salary, health plan to cover optical, dental and other medical needs and a C2W scheme.

Your Role:

  • Accounting:
  • Supporting the wider Fixed Asset team which operates globally, via Teams and reporting to the Senior Manager in the USA.
  • Ensure all fixed asset transactions are processed including additions, transfers and retirements with adherence to GAAP and statutory requirements.
  • Complete journal entries and fixed asset related entries.
  • Support the wider finance team by completing month end processes for projects and fixed assets, including depreciation and closing the period.
  • Reconciliation of the fixed asset register.
  • Assist with any external audit requests.
  • Work with the team to ensure best practice and encouraging improvements within the fixed asset process.
  • Projects:
    • Work with project managers to ensure assets are considered, costs are tracked and inline and queries are resolved. Ensure proper documentation and closure of projects with assets capitalised.
    • Support the business with fixed asset requests and ensure this is done in a timely manner.
    • Work on ad hoc projects as required.

    What We Need From You:

    • Graduate within Accounting or similar field, or AAT qualified, with some experience.
    • Experience with Fixed Assets and the ability to articulate depreciation, accounting for assets.
    • Experience within a global organisation, large business or in a shared service centre environment.
    • Strong MS Excel skills and use of Oracle would be beneficial.
    • Very strong communicator with excellent written and verbal English language skills.
    • Fluent in other European languages would be a benefit.
    • Meticulous with strong attention to detail.
    • Proactive self-starter, able to work well on your own and in a team.
    • Confident and approachable, good communicator in person and using Teams.
    • Ability to prioritise workloads and hit deadlines.
