Axon Moore are working with a fantastic business in the Ashton area to appoint a Qualified Management Accountant. You'll take ownership of the company's day-to-day and monthly financial accounting activities and become one of the key finance contacts across the business. This is a hands-on role where you'll be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the nominal ledger, producing accurate monthly financial information and supporting the business through an exciting period of transformation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing monthly management accounts including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow reporting
- Managing the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
- Maintaining the nominal ledger, including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
- Managing VAT, payroll and HMRC submissions, ensuring ongoing compliance
- Maintaining the fixed asset register and depreciation schedules
- Assisting with cash flow forecasting and treasury activities
- Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
- Supporting the audit and acting as a key contact for external auditors
- Continuously improving financial controls, reporting processes and documentation
- Overseeing the work of junior staff and ad-hoc work as required
Personal Attributes:
- 3+ years’ experience producing monthly management accounts
- Must be fully qualified ACCA/CIMA
- Excellent Excel skills and experience using accounting systems
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial information to non-finance colleagues
- Management experience would be beneficial
- A proactive, practical approach to solving problems
- High attention to detail and the ability to work to deadlines
