Our client is on the lookout for a Revenue Accountant to join their dynamic and growing finance team. This is your chance to play a pivotal role in a business where your expertise in revenue recognition under IFRS 15 and SaaS billing models will directly support strategic decision-making across the company.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Revenue Recognition: Ensure full compliance with IFRS 15 across all revenue streams – subscriptions, usage-based billing, and professional services.
- Contract Analysis: Dive into customer contracts to assess performance obligations and determine accurate revenue treatment.
- Month-End Close: Lead the monthly revenue close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Deferred Revenue Management: Maintain and reconcile deferred revenue and accrued income balances.
- Audit Support & Compliance: Be audit-ready at all times, upholding UK GAAP and international accounting standards.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Sales, Legal, and Customer Success to ensure billing accuracy and reliable revenue forecasting.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement revenue process enhancements, automation opportunities, and reporting upgrades.
- Management Accounting Support: Provide cover across the wider finance team when needed.
What You’ll Bring:
- ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified
- 3+ years in a revenue accounting role, ideally within a SaaS or tech company
- Strong understanding of IFRS 15 and revenue recognition principles
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, Oracle, Xero)
- Bonus points for Salesforce CPQ or similar revenue automation tools
- Meticulous attention to detail, sharp analytical thinking, and top-tier communication skills
- Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience in a listed or PE-backed company
- Background in a high-growth or scale-up business
- Systems implementation experience (accounting or revenue management)
- Familiarity with key SaaS metrics like ARR, TCV, and NRR
