Axon Moore are recruiting on behalf of a longstanding client for a Bookkeeper to join their finance team on an initial 3-month temporary contract, with the potential for extension.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional to support the business across a broad range of transactional accounting duties in a fast-paced environment.
Main duties
- Manage the end-to-end purchase ledger process, ensuring invoices are accurately processed, matched to purchase orders, and supplier queries are resolved promptly.
- Prepare supplier payment runs, process domestic and international payments, and issue remittance advice.
- Reconcile supplier accounts, company credit cards, and bank accounts, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
- Raise customer invoices, monitor outstanding balances, carry out credit control activities, and support cashflow forecasting with accurate payment information.
- Maintain accurate financial records by processing daily banking transactions and ensuring all postings comply with VAT regulations.
- Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and support the wider finance team with day-to-day bookkeeping activities.
Skills & experience
- Previous experience in a Bookkeeping or all-round transactional finance role.
- Strong knowledge of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, bank reconciliations, and payment processing.
- Good understanding of VAT and its application within a finance environment.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Confident using accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
