Axon Moore are supporting a leading business in the appointment of an Interim Project Accountant, reporting directly to the Financial Controller. This role will play a key part in strengthening the finance function, with a particular focus on balance sheet integrity, audit readiness, and process improvement. The successful candidate will be instrumental in resolving historic issues while implementing robust procedures to support future growth.

The key roles and responsibilities for this person will include:

  • Balance sheet reconciliation, including investigation and resolution of historic issues
  • Preparation and posting of correcting journal entries
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements to prevent recurring issues
  • Supporting the Financial Controller with audit preparation
  • Completion of audit schedules across all balance sheet accounts
  • Preparation of statutory notes and provision of information to external auditors
  • Assisting with audit queries and sample testing
  • Reviewing and improving existing processes, particularly around cash allocation for web transactions (own, overseas, and third-party platforms)
  • Identifying historical cash allocation issues and implementing solutions to resolve and prevent recurrence
  • Establishing and managing reconciliation processes for goods received not invoiced following system implementation
  • Providing month-end close support
