Axon Moore is partnering exclusively with a PE-backed hospitality business in Warrington. With a strong portfolio of successful outlets and exciting expansion plans, this is a prime opportunity to join during their growth journey.
Having recently strengthened its leadership team, our client is primed for its next phase of success. As part of this, they are looking to hire a Financial Accountant in this newly created role, which involves both reporting and management accounts, an ideal first-time move for practice ACA-newly qualified candidates, ideally from a Big 4 or Top 10 firms.
Reporting to a knowledgeable Financial Controller and working closely with a high-calibre CFO, this role offers exposure within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal and technical skills and a drive to develop their career in an ambitious, PE-backed business.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the Group’s annual audit, with the support of the FC, and be the main point of contact with the audit team.
- Production of the consolidated Group and its subsidiary’s annual statutory accounts, including the preparation of various supporting schedules.
- Production of tax schedules and liaison with the Group’s tax advisors.
- Assistance with the monthly preparation of the Group’s management accounts.
- Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Manage daily/weekly cash flow reporting/forecasts.
- Custodian of the Group’s statutory records, ensuring that records at Companies House are maintained accurately and on time.
- Preparation of the Group’s quarterly VAT returns.
- Assist the Financial Controller to ensure financial processes, systems and controls are operating effectively.
Skills and Experience:
- Preferably an ACA qualified accountant.
- Demonstrate a strong academic background.
- You will be accurate and have great attention to detail.
- Strong excel skills are essential (and will need to be demonstrated).
- You will need to be able to think and act independently (being a self-starter is essential).
- You will be able to demonstrate good organisational skills and the ability to work to tight timescales.
- You need to possess good communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to confidently explain financial information to non-financial personnel to support decision making.
- The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate an ethic of delivering high performance through hard work, commitment and teamwork.
- Being able to demonstrate an affinity with the Hospitality or Leisure sectors would be beneficial.
