Job Description

Finance Manager – East Cheshire | Hybrid after probation | Axon Moore is partnering with a high-growth manufacturing business to recruit a Finance Manager for a privately owned company with ambitious growth plans and an international customer base.Reporting to the Group Financial Controller and leading a small team of two assistants, the Finance Manager will drive financial strategy, manage reporting, support budgeting, and ensure compliance, while working closely with operational teams to inform commercial decisions.Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports
  • Develop budgets, monitor expenditures, and perform variance analysis
  • Conduct financial analysis and modelling to support business decisions
  • Manage accounting, monitoring, and reporting systems
  • Ensure regulatory compliance, including tax filings and audits
  • Supervise and mentor Assistant Management Accountants
  • Monitor cash flow, accounts, and other financial transactions
  • Recommend improvements to financial systems, processes, and policies
  • Support year-end audit and liaise with auditors
  • Analyse gross margins and support cost control initiatives

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • Fully qualified ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent
  • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP systemsΒ 
  • Knowledge of cost accounting, inventory management, and manufacturing operations
  • Ability to work independently and cross-functionally
  • Attention to detail and integrity

Preferred Experience:

  • 2–5 years in a similar finance role
  • Familiarity with financial reporting standards and compliance
  • Experience with Power Query/Power BI or equivalent
