Axon Moore are supporting an owner managed business in South Yorkshire with the appointment of a Part-Time Finance Director (2 Days per week). This is a long term, part time FD role rather than a short-term, fractional piece of work. The business has a proud history and services a loyal client base, with a healthy order book going in to 2026 and beyond.
The Finance Director will straddle both strategic support to the owner, alongside hands-on management of the key tasks within the finance department. They will ideally be working 2 days per week, at their site in South Yorkshire with good links to the M1.
Key duties of the role will include:
- Managing cash flows and daily cash position for the business, ensuring working capital processes are tightly ran and controlled
- Overseeing the statutory reporting process at year end and meeting all reporting requirements
- Managing the banking and audit relationships
- Offering strategic support to the owner, managing risks, opportunities and growth
- Manage stock control and peaks and troughs of supply/demand
The ideal candidate for this role should have the following credentials:
- Qualified accountant with significant experience as an FD / Head of Finance, ideally in an owner managed or PE backed business
- Must be someone who can be hands on, working as part of a small finance function, as well as support the owner with the company strategy
