Axon Moore is pleased to be exclusively partnering on a search for a new Finance Director opportunity in the Lancashire area. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established yet growing SME in Bolton.
The successful candidate will partner with the Managing Director and be part of the SLT, with the goal of supporting the long term growth ambitions of the business. The remit of this role will be broad and progressive as you will be heavily involved in the day-to-day financial operations as well as managing a small yet driven finance team. You will take ownership of the policies, procedures and processes of the finance function to ensure an effective control environment; providing key strategic information to the MD and external partners, to inform decision-making and drive business performance.
The successful candidate can expect to:
- Report into the Managing Director, taking full ownership for the finance function
- Direct leadership of a small but dynamic team.
- Oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the company, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Communicate financial performance and other key messages to senior leadership and operations teams
- Management of Corporation Tax and related areas of the UK Tax requirements.
- Support the External Auditors with the completion of the annual audit
- Preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
- Assist the MD in presenting reports to external stakeholders.
- Have full autonomy for the development of processes, controls and systems
- Provide astute and timely analysis to support commercial decision making
You will be suitably qualified in ACCA/CIMA/ACA and have relevant SME experience within Logistics/Construction/Manufacturing or a similar sector to be considered. The ideal candidate will hold excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders. Challenging where necessary, with a strategic mindset, and working to drive forward ongoing improvement across the organisation.
