Axon Moore are partnering with a PE-backed business in Wigan to recruit a Group Financial Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong ACA or ACCA qualified accountant looking to join a growing business in a broad and varied Group finance role, offering exposure to statutory reporting, audit, controls, and senior stakeholder interaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of annual statutory accounts for the Group and subsidiaries
- Managing the external audit process and liaising with auditors
- Supporting tax compliance activities including VAT, Corporation Tax, PAYE and related submissions
- Assisting with the development and improvement of financial controls and reporting processes
- Supporting monthly Group reporting, consolidations, balance sheet reconciliations, forecasting and treasury activities
- Assisting with Companies House and HMRC filings
- Supporting wider finance projects and ad-hoc business initiatives
About You
- ACA or ACCA qualified
- Ideally practice trained with strong technical accounting knowledge
- Experience preparing statutory accounts within a Group environment
- Strong understanding of financial controls, reporting standards, and audit processes
- Confident communicator with strong organisational skills
- Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage competing deadlines
- Strong Excel and systems capability
