Axon Moore is working exclusively on an Accounts Assistant opportunity with a growing, PE-backed business.
This is a broad finance role offering exposure across transactional finance, month-end and management accounts, with the opportunity to work closely with operational teams across the wider business.
The Role
Working as part of the wider Finance team, you will provide day-to-day finance support while helping to ensure processes, controls and reporting are maintained to a high standard.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Processing supplier invoices and resolving queries with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Reviewing purchase orders and working with operational teams to ensure outstanding commitments are accurately reflected at month-end.
- Supporting the month-end process, including accruals, prepayments, journals and supporting schedules.
- Preparing monthly management accounts for designated areas of the business.
- Reviewing financial information and highlighting any areas requiring further investigation.
- Acting as a key point of contact for operational teams on finance-related queries and processes.
- Ensuring internal finance and procurement procedures are followed and appropriately challenging where required.
- Supporting colleagues with finance processes and providing guidance where necessary.
- Assisting with the on boarding and training of new team members.
- Supporting the wider Finance team with ad hoc projects and duties.
About You
The successful candidate is likely to have:
- Previous experience within a Finance or Accounts environment.
- A good understanding of transactional finance processes.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach.
- The ability to manage your own workload and work to tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to liaise with stakeholders across the business.
- Good Excel and general IT skills.
- A proactive approach to problem solving.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a wider Finance team.
- A genuine interest in developing their finance career, with study support available.
