Axon Moore are partnering with a PE-backed SME based in Chorley to recruit a newly created Financial Accountant position.

This is an excellent opportunity for a first-time mover looking to step into a broad and varied role within an established and fast-growing business.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the monthly review of management accounts and prepare the monthly Board reporting pack for review by the Financial Controller.
  • Support the preparation of statutory and year-end accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards.
  • Manage and coordinate the annual audit process.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes to FRS 102 and assess their impact on the business, ensuring appropriate implementation of any changes.
  • Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and deadlines.
  • Support overseas financial reporting .
  • Assist with acquisition accounting, including supporting M&A activity, due diligence and post-acquisition integration.
  • Prepare and maintain 13-week cash flow forecasts.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement, process streamlining and greater efficiency across the finance function.
  • Support cash and treasury management.
  • Act as a finance business partner to multiple internal departments.
  • Provide support on ad hoc projects.
