Finance Manager
Location: Chorley – Office based, flexible hours
Salary: Up to 65k
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Manager to join an established and growing family run organisation based in Chorley.
Reporting directly to the Group Head of Finance, you will play a key role in overseeing the day to day finance function while providing accurate financial information, commercial insight and strategic support to senior management.
This is a varied role suited to a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys combining strong technical accounting knowledge with business partnering, financial analysis and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the month-end and year-end financial close processes.
- Prepare and manage annual budgets, forecasts and financial plans.
- Produce accurate management reporting and detailed variance analysis.
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, debtors, creditors and banking requirements.
- Provide financial analysis, modelling and insight to support business decisions.
- Support acquisitions and new business activities from a finance perspective.
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial records and systems.
- Maintain robust financial controls and processes.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting, tax, statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate external audits and respond to audit findings.
- Identify financial risks and implement appropriate controls and mitigation.
- Work closely with senior stakeholders to provide commercially focused financial advice.
- Identify opportunities for efficiencies and continuous improvement across the finance function.
- Lead, coach and develop finance team members.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience in a Finance Manager or senior accounting role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow management and financial analysis.
- Strong Excel and financial modelling skills.
