Location: Blackburn
Salary: Up to £55,000 + benefits
Reporting to: Finance Director

Are you a commercially minded Management Accountant looking for a role where you can make a genuine impact, take ownership and build towards a future Finance Director position?

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing and ambitious business at a key stage of its development. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you’ll take on a broad, hands on role across both financial and commercial finance, with real scope to influence how the business operates and grows.

The Role

You’ll work closely with the Finance Director and wider leadership team, taking responsibility for a broad range of finance activities while increasingly becoming a key commercial partner to the business.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Producing accurate and insightful monthly management accounts and financial reporting.
  • Providing meaningful analysis and commentary to support business decisions.
  • Working closely with senior stakeholders on budgets, forecasts and business planning.
  • Developing commercial reporting, KPIs and financial analysis.
  • Supporting pricing, profitability and margin analysis.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve financial performance and business processes.
  • Taking ownership of cash flow, working capital and other key financial metrics.
  • Improving systems, controls and processes as the business continues to grow.
  • Supporting and developing the finance function, with the opportunity to grow and lead a team.
  • Acting as a trusted finance partner across the wider business.
  • Working alongside the FD on strategic projects and helping shape the future direction of the finance function.

We're looking for someone who is ambitious, commercially focused and keen to progress.

  • Strong management accounting experience.
  • The ability to explain financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
  • A proactive approach and the confidence to challenge and influence.
