Location: London, England, United Kingdom

  • Analyse the structures of recovered digital video files, documenting file structures and playback behaviours.
  • Provide configuration, insights and code to customise internal systems to allow for the seamless playback of unique video containers across our SaaS Digital Evidence Management Platform.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, product managers, and cybersecurity experts, to integrate into production environments.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging technologies and methodologies in file format analysis, video containers and video processing.
  • Enhance existing tooling to drive efficiency in the analysis process.
  • Produce comprehensive technical documentation and reports detailing findings, methodologies, and implemented solutions.

What You Bring:

  • Knowledge of video formats and video containers, with a particular focus on container structures and codec technologies.
  • Good understanding of the low level details of MP4, AVI and others.
  • Familiarity with multimedia frameworks and libraries (e.g. FFmpeg, GStreamer) and an understanding of various video encoding standards, including H.264.
  • A strong analytical mindset with exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of clearly conveying technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • A keen interest in public safety and video forensics.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language such as C, C# or Python.
