Now we want a self-driven BDM to own new client acquisition and become a familiar face across UK automotive retail.

The role: We are looking for a hungry, self-driven Business Development Manager to own new client acquisition across UK automotive retail. This is a field-based, relationship-first sales role. You will be on the phone, in the showroom, and in the boardroom.

What you will be doing:

  • Identifying, approaching, and closing new dealership clients through LinkedIn, cold calling, physical visits, and your existing network
  • Managing the full sales cycle from first contact through to signed contract
  • Representing axleo at dealer group meetings, industry events, and face to face on the forecourt
  • Building genuine long-term relationships with clients. This is not a churn-and-burn role
  • Feeding market insight back to the team to sharpen our pitch and product direction

What we need:

  • Proven B2B sales track record. You can point to deals you have closed, not just pipelines you have managed
  • Automotive industry background. You understand how a dealership works, who holds the budget, and what a Sales Manager's week actually looks like
  • Confident self-starter who does not need hand-holding to pick up the phone, book a meeting, or walk into a forecourt
  • Strong communicator, equally comfortable presenting to a Dealer Principal and cold calling a Sales Manager
  • Disciplined and organised. Clean pipeline, tight follow-ups, CRM updated without being asked

Highly desirable:

  • Experience selling SaaS, tech, or data products, and an understanding of recurring revenue models
  • Existing network within UK automotive retail: dealer groups, franchised dealers, or manufacturer contacts
  • Experience in a start-up or early-stage environment where you have had to build from scratch
