About the Energy Analyst role
Axle has quickly become the leader in our operational markets, and we’re now looking to expand our reach internationally.
At the core of our market expansion plans is market analysis.
To maximize future revenue, we spend a lot of time modelling the value of flexibility in power markets around the world.
We are looking for an analytical wizard who can collaborate cross-functionally, crunch numbers, become an internal expert on markets, and find scrappy ways to get to answers.
- What you will be doing
- Building models of wholesale and ancillary power markets in different countries to predict revenue
- Building and evaluating different strategies for cycling a battery or load-shifting an EV charger in different countries.
- Diving into the nitty gritty of power markets to understand how trading, compensation, penalties, and cash flow works.
- Jumping on the phone with grid operators around the world to validate hypotheses and make sense of data
This is an opportunity to gain unique domain expertise and build the quantitative case for first-of-a-kind projects across the world.
- What we think you need to be successful
- Strong analytical chops (Python, SQL, spreadsheets), and are highly quantitative
- Exceptional communication & the ability to turn data into actionable commercial insights
- Comfort moving fast & making decisions in an evolving environment
- Knowledge of electricity markets - experience across multiple geographies is a plus
