Hours: 35 hours per week
Salary: Starting at £26,499 (actual)
Location: Base: South of West Mercia (Worcestershire & Herefordshire) OR North of West Mercia (Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin)
Expectations: Minimum of 2 days per week in base office(s). Minimum of 1 day per fortnight in opposite areas office(s), with flexibility for hybrid working, dependent on the needs of the business.
Holidays: 26 days plus statutory holidays per annum to be calculated pro rata to hours worked
Reports to: Snr IDVA
To provide independent, victim/survivor centred emotional and practical specialist support and advocacy to male survivors affected by domestic violence who are deemed as being high risk.
To provide a client centred, trauma informed specialist domestic abuse service working within a multi-agency setting.
- Risk assess and safety plan with clients to help keep them and their children safe
- Recognise individual need and facilitate access to other services that clients and their children need
- Provide information on the law and criminal justice processes relating to domestic abuse including reporting, special measures and victim’s rights
- Support the empowerment of the service user and facilitate their understanding of the dynamics of domestic violence
- Help clients access their rights within and external to the criminal justice process
The successful applicant will be required to understand and operate within the Axis organisation’s policies, procedures and guidelines and work to the principles of equal opportunities and anti discriminatory practice.
