Job Description: Axis Lloyd's Reporting Actuary

How does this role contribute to our collective success? AXIS Managing Agency is a top 10 player in the Lloyd's market. It is also the largest platform for writing business within the AXIS Group. This position involves supporting and coordinating the actuarial regulatory requirements for the Lloyd's syndicates within the AXIS Group. This role supports the team's broader goal of protecting the strong relationships with the regulator and ensuring AXIS can collectively meet its growth initiatives in a capital efficient manner. A key part of the role will be delivering data-driven insights and developing comprehensive reports and presentations ensuring regulatory compliance and enhancing decision-making processes. This is a role within a large organisation providing the right candidate the opportunity to develop and grow.

What will you do in this role?

  • Day to day management of ensuring all regulatory requirements and filings are made for the Lloyd's syndicate and/or the PRA.
  • Peer review of assumptions and projections from a legal entity perspective.
  • Manage the calculation of the technical provisions and standard formula for Solvency II and other regulatory reserving bases including UK GAAP.
  • Work closely with the capital modelling team on production of the bi-annual capital submissions to Lloyd's.
  • Work with pricing and FP&A to produce the Lloyd's SBF submission ensuring the assumptions made are consistent with those being used elsewhere in the Group.
  • Liaise with external consultants in coordinating the provision of actuarial opinions and reports.
  • Assist in the main GAAP reserving exercise and other related projects where required.
  • Assist in communicating results to the Syndicate Executive Committee and Board.
  • Support the capabilities and operation of the Syndicate Actuarial Function including identifying where enhancements and efficiencies can be deployed particularly around data, calculation and reporting processes.

You may also be required to take on additional duties, responsibilities and activities appropriate to the nature of this role.

What you need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Industry experience ideally with a Lloyd's background in reserving, capital, or modelling roles.
  • Qualified/near qualified as a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, or equivalent.

What we prefer you to have:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-starter, proactive and prepared to operate autonomously.
  • Ability to develop, recommend and implement new approaches.
  • Excellent organizational skills and a strong attention to detail.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel, SQL Server, VBA capabilities; additional experience with ResQ, PowerBI, and/or Oracle or similar applications is a plus but not essential if there is a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work occasional extended hours as required.

Role Factors: In this role, you will be required to be in the office 3 days per week.
