KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in producing the AXIS Group quarterly reserving estimates.
- Assist with the peer review of the Segment quarterly reserve analyses and validation of the selected actuarial estimates.
- Assist with the peer review and validation of Segment key actuarial assumptions and methods.
- Coordinate reserve meetings for the Group quarterly reserving process.
- Perform additional project work including deep dives of Insurance and Reinsurance lines of business.
- Assist in the annual Planning exercise, liaising closely with Pricing and Risk Functions.
- Provide support for other Group Functions (Finance, Risk, Investments) as required.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Math, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Business, Risk Management or a similar field.
- At least five years of industry experience with an insurance, reinsurance, or consulting background in reserving, pricing, or modeling roles.
- Nearly qualified or qualified as a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (or equivalent).
OTHER DESIRED SKILLS & CHARACTERISTICS:
- Experience with management information systems is a plus (e.g., database and application development).
- Intermediate to advanced Excel, Access, VBA capabilities; additional experience with SQL Server, ResQ, Tableau, and/or Oracle or similar applications is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work occasional extended hours and travel on business as required.
- Excellent organizational skills and a strong attention to detail.
