The Actuarial Graduate Programme is a three-year rotational programme committed to helping you grow throughout your career within the insurance industry. As a Graduate Actuarial Analyst, you will play a crucial role getting involved in front line actuarial work and developing an understanding of key actuarial techniques. While rotating through three actuarial departments, this programme will help you develop a core knowledge of actuarial concepts, fundamental analytical skills, and project management experience.

You will take on key roles in various projects and communicate with senior Actuaries. You will also engage proactively with other professionals and actuarial management to achieve desired business outcomes. What will you do in this role?

  • You will gain exposure to at least two of the following areas:
  • Pricing / Pricing Analytics / Portfolio Management: Assist in insurance pricing and analysis in order to communicate and explain outputs from pricing tools, support development and testing of pricing platforms, conduct detailed reviews within classes of business to objectively assess profitability, create, analyse, and manipulate SQL databases to support portfolio management, monthly reporting and ad-hoc requests, collaborate with underwriters, catastrophe modellers and pricing actuaries to develop rating models and methods, deliver relevant data and insights to inform decision making, assist with preparing regular portfolio management MI and with preparing business plan review materials.
  • Capital Modelling: Actuarial modelling and testing, work with capital modelling team to improve risk parameterisation and methodology, assist the capital modelling team in maintaining and enhancing the capital model.
  • Regulatory Reserving: Carry out a first cut of reserve projections for a selection of classes, support the reserving process including pack production, providing support for Lloyd’s submissions and the Standard Formula.

You may also be required to take on additional duties, responsibilities and activities appropriate to the nature of this role.

What you need to have:

  • First class or 2:1 university degree

What we prefer you to have:

  • Experience within the insurance industry either academically or through prior internships.
  • Familiarity with SQL, VBA, R, Microsoft Office is preferable.

Role Factors:

  • Be in the office 3 days per week, or when required as per your manager.
