Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Chef Manager to support a care home in Sudbury on a flexible, agency basis. This role is ideal for a skilled culinary professional who is passionate about delivering high-quality, nutritious meals while maintaining excellent food safety standards in a care setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and serve balanced, nutritious meals tailored to residents' dietary needs and preferences
- Manage kitchen operations efficiently during shifts
- Ensure compliance with all food hygiene, health, and safety regulations
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization in the kitchen
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering supplies where required
- Cater for special dietary requirements (e.g., allergies, cultural needs, modified textures)
- Work collaboratively with care staff to support residents’ well-being
Requirements
- Valid DBS certificate registered on the Update Service (essential)
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Catering / Food Safety / Food Hygiene
- Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within a care home or healthcare setting
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations and nutritional requirements
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Flexibility to pick up shifts across the week, including weekends
