This is a senior executive leadership role in a dynamic Further Education college in East London. The Vice Principal – Curriculum & Quality will lead on all aspects of curriculum design, quality improvement, and learner success, ensuring consistently high standards across all provision areas. The role is central to driving teaching excellence, improving outcomes, and embedding a strong culture of continuous improvement across the organisation.
Key Purpose of the Role
- Lead curriculum quality improvement across the college
- Drive excellence in Teaching, Learning and Assessment (TLA)
- Oversee a broad and diverse curriculum portfolio, including:
- Apprenticeships
- Adult learning (Maths, English, ESOL)
- GCSE English and Maths (including resit programmes)
- Provision for learners with SEND and complex needs
Leadership & Management
- Provide inspirational leadership to high-performing curriculum and quality teams
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and performance-driven organisational culture
- Build and sustain strong partnerships with employers, stakeholders, and funding agencies
- Deputise for the Principal & CEO as required, representing the college at a senior strategic level
What you would bring:
- Substantial senior leadership experience within Further Education (FE)
- Demonstrable success in leading curriculum strategy and quality improvement
- Proven track record of improving teaching, learning, assessment, and learner outcomes
- Experience of Ofsted inspections at a senior leadership level, ideally as Ofsted Nominee
- Strong understanding of FE funding methodologies, curriculum planning, and performance data analysis
Knowledge & Expertise
- Apprenticeship delivery and adult education provision
- English and Maths curriculum leadership, including GCSE resit programmes
- SEND provision and inclusive curriculum design
- Quality assurance frameworks and continuous improvement systems
- In-depth knowledge of the Ofsted Education Inspection Framework
