We are seeking an experienced and motivated Electrical Trainer Coach to join a growing apprenticeship and training team. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity for a candidate with strong industry knowledge and experience supporting electrical apprentices in the workplace.

The successful candidate will work closely with apprentices, employers and training staff to support the development, assessment and achievement of learners undertaking electrical installation qualifications and apprenticeships. This role involves regular workplace visits, coaching apprentices, carrying out progress reviews and assessments, and ensuring learners are supported to successfully achieve their qualifications and apprenticeship standards.

Role Overview

As an Electrical Trainer Coach, you will be responsible for managing a caseload of apprentices, providing guidance, coaching and assessment support throughout their learning journey. You will work collaboratively with employers and stakeholders to ensure apprentices develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required for success within the electrical industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and support a caseload of electrical apprentices
  • Conduct regular workplace visits and progress reviews
  • Assess apprentice competence against qualification and apprenticeship requirements
  • Provide coaching, mentoring and developmental support to learners
  • Work closely with employers to monitor apprentice progress and performance
  • Support apprentices in preparing for assessments and End Point Assessment requirements
  • Maintain accurate learner records and documentation
  • Ensure apprentices remain on track to achieve their qualifications and apprenticeship outcomes
  • Deliver high-quality guidance and feedback to support learner development
  • Promote safeguarding, health and safety, and equality and diversity throughout all aspects of delivery
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with employers and stakeholders

Essential Requirements

  • Level 3 Electrical Installation qualification or equivalent
  • Level 3 Assessor qualification
  • Assessors Award
  • Qualification in Coaching or Mentoring
  • Electrical industry experience
  • Experience working with a training provider delivering apprenticeships
  • Experience teaching and/or assessing electrical apprentices
  • Minimum 6 months experience assessing 16–18 year olds in the UK within a similar apprenticeship, training or further education environment
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to manage a caseload and work independently
  • Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel to employer sites

Desirable Requirements

  • Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DET, AET or equivalent)
  • Experience supporting apprentices through End Point Assessment
  • Knowledge of apprenticeship standards and funding requirements
  • Experience using e-portfolio and learner management systems
